Executive Board Member Board President

Lizzy Kilgore

Lizzy Kilgore serves as the Coordinator of Language Services for Douglas County School System and GALAS, bringing 19 years of experience in education and a deep commitment to student achievement, family engagement, multilingual learners, leadership development, and teacher development.

Lizzy’s journey in education began in Costa Rica and continued in the United States, where she gained experience in both public and private school settings. Her lifelong passion for community service led her to become a Special Education interpreter, where she focused on bridging communication gaps and ensuring that every individual feels supported, understood, and heard.

Through her leadership in language services and her work with the Georgia Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents, Lizzy continues to advocate for meaningful access, stronger school-family partnerships, and inclusive support for multilingual communities. She is especially proud of her work with language services and GALAS, both of which reflect her commitment to service, leadership, and educational equity.

Her impact has been recognized through the 2023 NAETISL Language Access in Education Champion Award and the 2025 GSPRA Outstanding Leadership in School/Community Relations Award.

Outside of work, Lizzy enjoys spending time with family, fútbol, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Korean shows, and reading the Bible. She is also a brown belt in Karate-Do.
