Latino students represent a growing and vital part of Georgia’s public school population. Today, approximately 18 percent of Georgia’s K–12 students identify as Hispanic or Latino, yet Latino representation in school and district leadership remains significantly lower. This gap highlights the need to intentionally develop and support leaders who reflect the communities they serve.

The Georgia Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (GALAS) is committed to addressing this need by providing professional development, mentorship, and leadership opportunities for educators across the state.

Through advocacy, collaboration, and leadership development, GALAS is working to ensure Georgia’s educational leadership better reflects the diversity of its students—and that Latino students see themselves represented in the leaders guiding their schools and communities.
